S. Keenora"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 class=\"pop-up-title\">S. S. Keenora<\/h1>\n<p>The S.S. Keenora was a steamer built in 1897 to carry passengers and cargo. With her sixty-five-cabin capacity, the S.S. Keenora would travel up and down the Lake of the Woods and Rainy River, from Rat Portage to Little Forks. Du Vernet started his journey on the steamer on July 13 from Rat Portage and returned to Rat Portage by the steamer on July 22. From the decks of the Keenora, he was able to set up his camera and photograph the river as he travelled.<\/p>\n<p>After many seasons in the Lake of the Woods, the S.S. Keenora went back to Winnipeg in 1917, where she served as a floating dance hall before being decommissioned in 1965.
