Using the Mirador Image Viewer
Many of the images on this site are available to look at through the Mirador Image Viewer. Using Mirador, you can have a much more interactive experience with the Diary, the Diplomatic Transcription, and many of the maps in the Map Gallery. You can view the images in full screen mode, zoom in and zoom out on them, and move through multiple images in the same viewer window.
*If you ever do something in the viewer that you did not want to do, don’t worry! You can always refresh the page and everything will go back to its original state.
Full Screen Function
If you want to look at the image in full screen mode, just click the diagonal arrows. When viewing the Diary or Transcription, you can view one at a time in full screen mode or both, depending on which arrows you click.
If you want to get out of full screen mode, just click the arrows again.
Zoom In/Out
You can zoom in and zoom out on the images by clicking the + and – buttons at the bottom right-hand corner of the viewer or use the zoom capabilities on your mouse, track pad, or touch screen.
Cycle through images
If you want to cycle through multiple images in the Viewer, you can do this in two ways. The first way is to click the left or right arrows. The second way is to scroll through the bar at the bottom of the viewer and select which image you wish to view.
